  1. Neither he stated today on ESPN to just let him go and after a 5 hour meeting yesterday they are still at a stalemate. They don't want me the players said let him go they are tired of hearing about Brett and that they did play a little last season too. And that this Brett I will not come back under any circumstances saga is affecting the rookie. As of right now Brett will not compete against the rookie nor come to practice. But the way all this flip flopping goes you never know. They need to let Brett go and not hold him hostage as he has done to them for the last 4 years. They have moved on let him move on.. Rodgers is the quarterback for the Packers

  2. If he stays, he should start as a back up because he did none of the of the off season OTA's or participate in early camp when the offense is installed, so the offense is no longer planned around him. However, if he does stay and can still unseat Rodgers, then he should start. Fair is fair.

For the record, I can't stand the guy and I thought last year was kind of a fluke because for several years before, he threw so many interceptions he looked like he was washed up. I just never saw the greatness in him, just the durability. To me he doesn't hold a candle to Montana, Young and Marino.

  3. According to Fox Sports,

He does not want to be the back up role, and denied the Packers request for him to do that. So, he'll probably be traded to another team, because unlike the MLB, the NFL doesn't have a no trade clause on their contracts.

So, expect Brett Favre to be in a different uni by the 2nd week of the season.

You really think that the Packers want to trade him to another team right now, where it will be easier for him to pick up the new teams playbook and system....h**l No!

    Way to go Packs!

  4. He will start.

There will be to much pressure from the fans but I think that the Pack should go with a QB rotation just to p**s Favre off.

  5. I think the Packers should give the starting job to Favre unless he really stinks in training camp (technically every player should be fighting for his roster spot).  When some team's QB goes down during the season, the Packers can trade either Favre or Rodgers.  Or they can have two quality QB's, like Cleveland has with Anderson and Quinn.  Favre gives the Packers the best chance to win.

It's a bad situation for Rodgers and it's his final contract year, but he has the least leverage of all parties.  How much are other teams going to offer Rodgers in free agency next season?  Sure he's shown some potential, but he's also been injury-prone and has no starting experience.  Are the Dolphins or Bears going to offer huge contracts on an unproven QB?

If Rodgers wants to leave after this season, that's his right.  But the Packers will probably offer the most money to keep him.

It's been a PR disaster for Favre, but Packers management looks even worse.  This has become a battle of egos, but management is supposed to make objective decisions.  Players can talk all they want, but management is supposed to stay cool and make rational decisions...

  6. I sure hope he doesn't start. Brett Favre has really messed his legacy up by showing that he is not a team player. He is a Brett player. The Packers have been dealing with Brett Favre and his 'decision' to continue or retire for each of the last 4 or 5 years. Finally, he decides to retire and they move forward with their 1st round draft pick in Rogers and used 2 other picks to get QB's in the draft. Now, Brett wants to come back? For what 1 more year because he knows he'll miss the celebrity status? I guess the Packers should shun their 1st round QB pick in Rogers (their future) and allow him to be a free agent and leave Green Bay so that Brett can fulfull his fantasy by playing 1 more year. I'm so tired of everyone blaming the oranization. Let's look at how selfish Brett is being.

So, trade him, you say....... That's real nice for Green Bay. They invested a ton of money in him over the years....a ton of money. And do they get to keep the legacy of Brett Favre being a Packer like Dan Marino being a Dolphin......no....they get to lose it so he can play an additional year.

To be quite honest....If I were the Packer organization, I would keep him on the bench as the backup QB because he signed the contract that he would play in GB thru the 2010 season and that would keep him a Packer unless he wanted to play somewhere else when he was 40 years old.

Players running the business of football is going to be a downfall,....just like the players run baseball.

  7. My honest opinion is neither. He wants to be a starter and I don't see Green Bay going back on the idea of Aaron Rodgers being the starter. I see Green Bay trading Favre to another team. That's just my opinion and I'm sure I'll get slammed for it but it is what it is.

  8. open competition. so favre, unless you can see rodgers beating favre.

  9. I think he'll start... he wants to go in the division and packers are not gonna do that, maybe to like the Bears, cause they are so bad anyways Favre's not gonna hurt GB playing for Chicago... and he really is still better than Rodgers

  10. he going to start because aaron rodger sucks

  11. Well the obvious answer now is neither since he was traded to the Jets.

  12. he will be traded....he won't play for GB, if that happens, Rogers will demand an immediate trade and when Favre retires again after this year they are in deep dog doo.
