And how much per gallon of it is tax? (if you even know that).

it's about £5 a gallon, or about $10 a gallon

and duty on fuel is constantly changing but it's at about 70-75%

75% tax on fuel is crazy

and it's 17.5% Value added Tax aswell on purchases, and so is added on to the fuel price and the duty aswell

Expect to pay about  ÃƒÂ‚£1.19 per litre for unleaded and £1.40 for diesel. In remote areas it's even higher

As much as £1.32 per litre.

About 80% of that is tax so I have heard.

We buy petrol by the litre today it was £1.20 a litre. VAT is at 17.5%.  Fuel prices recently rose at a rapid rate, about two weeks ago I was paying £1.13 a litre.  VAT has been 17.5% for some time.

I think about 75% of it is tax.

£1.20 per litre where I live - I think its 40-50% tax.  Crazy!
