BRITISH: Why do you still have a queen?

We like it and it suits us.  Plenty of Americans (and others) spend their money to come over and have a look at her so its also good for our tourist industry.

Things which I find outdated are the death penalty, citizens carrying firearms, inadequate welfare provisions and the idea that you can solve conflict by bombing innocent women and children..

Although i don't entirely agree with the Monarchy, they bring in a lot of money by way of tourism.

This is coming from a state that voted The Terminator as its governor. From the country that elected Bush twice. I'd take the queen, although she is symbolic she can speak proper English unlike the other two.

It's a great way of extracting large quantities of cash from gullible American and Japanese tourists.  Along with Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Tower Bridge.  Having a Queen is a very profitable business.

This question has been asked many  times by the media and many have voted that they warm to the idea of having a Queen.  The Queen has overall say about what the government can and can't do and sometimes with these c**p politicians that is a good thing.  The Queen/royal family bring revenue to this country and provide a good ambassador abroad.  I am not a great fan myself given the amount of controversy over the years in particular with the Charles and Diana business.  I think as much as I dislike Camilla PB Charles should have been allowed to marry her all those years ago but the Queen intervened and look where it got Diana. I do believe despite all the investigations undertaken that Diana was murdered.  Not in our life time but much later the truth will come out.  No one ever mentions the bodyguard Trevor Ryhs Jones.  What happened to him, where is his account of the true events................

Yeah we do but I know nothing about her really and I'm 30 so she was obviously outdated well before now!
