BS 1363 Electrical Socket?

I just moved into a new house and have 1 bs 1363 Electrical socket besides the normal 110v sockets. I am curious as to if I can remove the bs1363 outlet, and install a normal 110v household socket. I am aware they make converter plugs for the bs 1363 but from what I have read so far they only convert the plug type not the voltage. Thank you for any Help!

changing the socket front will not change the voltage either, at a guess your on a us base in the uk, and you have both 240v uk power and us 110v supply. the only way you can use 240v is to plug in 240v appliances or have lots of ugly building site 110v transformers for your us equipment.
