BSV Eynatten B1 B2 C1: Saskia Schussler trounces Alyson Lemaire in Women’s Singles title match
Germany’s Saskia Schussler has made her presence felt to the world as she has won the Women’s Singles title match against Belgium’s Alyson Lemaire at the BSV Eynatten B1 B2 C1 in Belgium, on Sunday, January 29.
Saskia, who crushed every shuttler in her way to final, continued her roller-coaster performance in the final encounter and claimed the title. She did not waste any time in the court and took just 30 minutes to finish the match in straight games.
The German proved her mettle against Alyson who was second seed in the Women’s Singles draw. The Belgian failed to cope up with the speed of her lower ranked opponent and lost the final contest despite having the support of home crowd.
Saskia started her run in the final match quite authoritatively as she dominated the pace of rallies and did not let her rival to adjust in the court. She continued her aggressive play and outclassed her opponent in the opening half of first game.
On the other hand, Alyson was clearly lacking power in her strokes and she also made a few unforced errors in the opening part of first set and remained trailing far behind her lower ranked German challenger.
After the break, the Belgian increased her speed to take the bird early but failed to manage it as her opponent did not spare any room for her to earn points. Saskia was in complete control and ended the first set with an impressive 21-10 score on the board.
In the second set, Alyson played different game this time as she did not commit any mistake and remained close to her opponent in the opening points.
However, Saskia managed to take over the control by moving fast in the court and managed to take reasonable lead until the break.
After the break, Saskia did not drop the pace of rallies and destroyed the defence of her higher ranked challenger. She won the second game by putting up a striking margin of 21-14 on the score board.
Saskia won this Women’s Singles final encounter in 30 minutes by an impressive score of 21-10 and 21-14.
