BT Phone Number, how long before activation?

Hi All,

I went back to BT on Wednesday, but for some unknown reason I cannot place a order for Broadband with Sky or anyone else for that matter, as when I do a broadband check, I get a message saying this is not a active BT line, or Sky say this is a buisness/switchboard number, so does anyone have any idea how long before I can place a order for broadband???

I would appreciate any help on this matter!

  1. it took bt 28 days to activated my phone line for broadband

BT should have given you a connection date for your line to be activated.  If the phone line is active you should be able to order broadband from BT or any other company straight away.  If they haven't you should phone them, in case there has been a muck up.  New and returning customers are dealt with on a new computer system and there has been some 'teething trouble' so get in touch with them to make sure that your order is being processed.  You won't be able to order broadband until the line is activated.  0800 800150

    If the line has in fact been activated and you are able to make and receive calls but not order broadband then there may be a fault in which case you need to call 0800 800151.  

    There could be a fault or a 'tag' on the line.
