BT Response 50 Answerphone displays H and won't answer calls?

My Bt answerphone is displaying H and not working as a result. We had multiple power cuts at the weekend and this is just one of the things affected by it. I have tried finding a manual for download online but BT no longer have one. They directed me to their premium rate phone line which would probably cost more than a new machine!

H stands for "home mode" on this machine, so the machine, will playback messages but not answer the phone.

Try turning the machine off for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.

Also a new tape may also help, however, unless you need the call screening function, you may prefer to move from you answering machine to BT 1571 (a messaging service) this will cost you nothing.
