What is the best phone provider? I call mobiles a lot and also 0845 and premium numbers. I use the phone constantly but want a really good deal as I am a student

  1. Most lines can be re-connected within 2-4 hours if a billing dispute has been resolved so I can't understand this. Could you have a fault, have you tried the faults team???

0800800154 for bus, 0800800151 for res.

  2. you have a fault????? ring 151 and request a line test.

  3. many years ago...I use to work for Bt's debt management and billing... they'd never cut you off if the bills were paid promptly...never.

  4. Just get a mobile phone on Orange or O2 contract, that's what every other pleb with more money than sense does.

I can't believe BT would cut you off for no reason, unless there has been a clerical error in which case you should be able to show them your bills, receipts for on-time payments, and get them to sort it out.

  5. Use a BT line with a piggyback service, such as the Phone Co-op.  We use them and our bills are tiny.

  6. Virgin Media

  7. BT do not "cut phones off" without a good reason.  How about telling us just WHY they ceased your account?

  8. Unless you are on cable other providers will still need a BT line and you will still have to pay line rental. As long as your bills are paid up BT has an obligation as a monopoly to provide your line. Investigate further. You may have to get the ombudsman involved Not sure if it's oftel or ofcom

  9. From your calling pattern I don't think that just using a mobile is the best way forward.

What you will have to do is find out exactly why you were cut off, it sounds like an error on BT's part so get reconnected and then I can recommend an excellent company who really care about their customers, plus the fact that this company will be bringing out a new product later this year which could be excellent for you.

Email me if you would like more info.

  10. Check that is right as we had the same problem. They wrote and gave me a cancellation date and I was shocked as my bills were always paid by DD. It worked out that another provider had told them they were taking over the account even though I had not signed any paperwork or new anything about it they cancelled my account and would have taken over my line without me knowing.

  11. they cant just cut you off
