  1. They were an cool band

  2. Wow Deep Floyd, Budgie are great! It's nice to see them being mentioned twice here in R&P over the last couple days!

As a matter of fact, one of your respondents here asked a question yesterday concerning Budgie, which I answered as well:

I still have all of their LP's on vinyl, and my favorite has always been 'In For The Kill'...it doesn't get much better than Hammer and Tongues or Living on Your Own...great stuff!

Glad to see that we have a nice little nest of Budgie fans here at R&P!

Led Zeppelin 911...I couldn't agree more with your comments...great answer! It's so nice to see a person from your part of the world loving this great Welsh band. Cool!

Thanks for the BA by the way! Lol. You deserve one here too!

You guys should check out their recent 2006 album 'You're All Living in Cuckooland', it's quite good, as they seem to recapture their sound from the early 80's on this one.

  3. Love the song "Homicidal Suicidal" from their self titled debut album.

Great band with a lot of good memories from the 70's...

  4. Hi Deep Floyd , thank you for posting a question like this . BTW , I have posted a question about Budgie yesterday .

I'm a fan of this trio since the first time I listened to my first album which was (Never Turn Your Back On A Friend) . After that , I downloaded (The Best Of) album and I was blown away by tracks like "Zoom Club" , Napoleon Bona Pt 1" , I can't See My Feeling" , " I Ain't A Mountain" .etc. . Recently , I downloaded "Squwak" I didn't listen to it yet . Since I'm from Saudi Arabia , it's really difficult to find a store or even in malls where real music is available , it's all nowadays non-sense . Finally , I just want to state three points in (Why Budgie immediately got into my favorite list) .

    (1) A power trio >> I have always appreciated power trios , it needs so much more effort .

    (2) Budgie is the true bridge between (Hard Rock / Heavy Metal) land and (Progressive yet complicated keyboard and effects FREE) . So , they won my heart by doing 10 and 9 minutes songs straight by guitar and bass (Rock 'N' Roll essence) .

    (3) Burke Shelley's hammering on the bass is as underrated as the warrior's (Phil Lynott) . It just amazes me how Rock 'N' Roll society talk about the like of Les Claypool (even if talented) or Cliff Burton or Geddy Lee (all talented) and not talk about Phil or Burke . Songs like "In The Grip Of A Tyrefitter's Hand" tells you a lot about Burke's talent . Finally , don't forget the son of Tony Iommi in music that is the legendary Tony Bourge , just listen to the guitar getting torn in "The Breadfan" .

  5. They still ARE a cool band..Reformed with a tour of the UK a couple of months ago or more..those Welsh bandits still 'waiving the rules'. Good to see,I reckon..righteous re-unions..that is...Forgot..."Crash Course In Brain Surgery " from "In For The Kill" ('74 ?) was Crazy Mad..Metallica covered it later on. Interesting song...

  6. Cool band!  My favorite song is Breadfan.  I should really listen to more.
