Question:

BULL**** Parking Ticket - How to approach my appeal.?

There were two signs, one pointing to the left saying absolutely no parking, and one pointing to the right saying "TOW ZONE PICK UP / DROP OFF 15 MINUTE LIMIT 7am-6pm MON-FRI"

I was parked to the right of the sign. I assumed since it was past 6pm, 1:30am, it was safe to park there for a few hours, but when i returned, MUCH before 7am, I found a ticket under my windshield wiper.

This sign is clearly misleading and does not specify you cannot park at all times MON-FRI

How should I approach writing my appeal to the city?

  1. with all the dead presidents it takes to pay the fine, its a parking ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just hope they don't put you in the front of the lethal injection line or some thing...

  2. with a bunch of humility,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  3. Your approach will be the ticket with the time and the pictures that you took and that should dismiss the ticket because you were in the right............

  4. Sorry, it seems clear to me that there is no parking (i.e. leaving your car) at any time, and you are only allowed to do pickup or dropoff (i.e. staying in the car) between 7 and 6.

Most parking tickets have information on them on how to appeal.

  5. If you parked at 1:30 AM, then you were in the right (assuming your nose didn't creep into the left).

We (NY'ers) often have to decipher those signs.  And that sign clearly says 15 minute pickup and drop off limit during 7 AM to 6 PM - no other restrictions at other times.

Take a picture of the sign to the court date.

    Good Luck...

  6. Oh man that sucks. How much is the ticket? I wouldn't try to appeal. Its going to be such a hassel just pay it and go on with your life. I prolly would have done the same thing as you, but now that I read it, it does say no parking. But yea its very misleading.
