BUS sizes (computers)?

can someone tell me the advantages reducing the BUS size and disadvantages of having the data BUS too wide, and what have been done to reduce them.

You cant reduce it.  But even if your could why would you, it will make the computer too slow.  The BUS is just as important as how much ram you have and how fast your processor is in determing the speed of your computer.
