BWF Super Series Finals: Tine Baun hammers Ji Hyun Sung in Women’s Singles Group A – Badminton news
Denmark’s Tine Baun has proved her superior skills in the court as she has easily defeated Korea’s in-form player, Sung Ji Hyun, in the Women’s Singles last match of Group A at the 2011 BWF Super Series Finals, in China, on Friday, December 16.
The World Number Five, Baun, who has been working well for the last six months, again delivered remarkable performance and defeated Ji Hyun in a convincing fashion. The Danish played on a different level throughout the match and finished it in an authoritative
manner.
In the first game both ladies remained close in the first half but Baun took over the control to finish it with a superb margin. In the second game, the Danish played aggressive game and thrashed the Korean with a completely one-sided score.
The starting points of this Women’s Singles fight were interesting when both elite shuttlers played fast and positive badminton. They entertained the crowd with the perfect execution of strokes in all areas of the court. Until the interval in the opening
half, the Danish reached at 11-9.
After the break, Baun started to stretch the gap by dominating the game at the net. She executed semi-smashes and disturbed the flow of her rival and remained successful in maintaining the lead throughout the set. Baun finished the opening set in a striking
way with a 21-13 score on the board.
In the second game of the match, Baun was everywhere in the court as she spared no room for the Korean to put up strong resistance. She remained on the right track by playing positive badminton. Ji Hyun failed to control the bird and also executed wrong
strokes which helped the Danish to stretch the gap in the first half of the set.
After the break, Baun remained quite composed as she made no mistake and spared no chance for the Korean to fight back in the game. Ji Hyun was completely helpless against the attacking play of her Danish opponent.
Baun finished the second game with a stunning margin of 21-9. She finished the score with a superb score of 21-13 and 21-9 by taking just 35 minutes.
