BWF Superseries Finals 2012: Ratchanok Intanon stuns Saina Nehwal in Women’s Singles Group B
Intanon Ratchanok, who is one of the most aggressive shuttlers from Thailand, put up superb show and outplayed her higher ranked rival Saina Nehwal of India in Women’s Singles Group B at BWF Superseries Finals 2012 on Thursday, December 13, in China.
The impressive Intanon, who has been positioned at number nine in Women’s Singles world ranking, played with superb precision and she easily demolished the World Number Three Saina who was the fourth seeded player in the main draw.
Intanon played terrific badminton with incredible speed and remained dominant throughout the battle. She did not face any resistance from her Indian opponent and won the match in straight games with a crushing margin.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Saina failed to find a good flow in the whole battle. She could not create any pressure on her Thai opponent and eventually went down with a lopsided score on the board.
Intanon played with superb control in her shots and managed to control the affairs from starting points of the first set.
The tempo of the rallies was quite fast in first game and Intanon entertained local fans with her lofty craft.
It was Intanon who did not show any mercy to her aggressive rival in the starting half and secured a superb lead on score board.
After the mid-game break, Intanon was focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable lead.
It was a smooth sailing for the impressive Intanon who did not face any resistance from her rival and won the first game with a staggering 21-13 margin on the board.
Saina was once again in problem in the following set as she received a punishing treatment from her challenger who was at her best in the arena.
Intanon was in incredible control of the game and she remained successful in establishing a staggering difference until the one-minute break.
In the ending half of second game, the incredible Intanon continued her smooth sailing and easily bagged the game by a superb score of 21-16.
The impressive Thai lady stamped her mark over Saina in an inspiring fashion by winning this Women’s Singles battle in straight sets with a dominating 21-13 and 21-16 score on the board.
