BWF Superseries Finals: Xiaoli Wang and Yang (F) Yu eased into Women’s Doubles final
China’s most experienced shuttlers Xiaoli Wang and Yang (F) Yu stretched their winning run and eased into Women’s Doubles final after defeating Japan’s Shizuka Matsuo and Mami Naito in semi-final contest at BWF Superseries Finals 2012 in China, on Saturday,
December 15.
The in-form Xiaoli and Yang, who are the fourth seeded players in main draw of the tournament, showed a wonderful performance and they easily trounced their top seeded Japanese challengers in just 34 minutes.
Chinese ladies proved that they are the best in business as they did not show any mercy to their Japanese opponents at any stage of the match and wrapped up victory in a one-sided way by a huge margin.
In contrast, the top seeded Japanese shuttlers failed to put up strong show in the arena as they could not get any chance to create pressure on their local challengers and eventually lost this semi-final match in a lopsided fashion.
In the first game, Xiaoli and Yang performed extremely well from the starting points as they played with phenomenal speed and grabbed the control of rallies.
Chinese shuttlers showed an aggressive performance and remained successful in setting up a huge lead on the board at the early stage.
Xiaoli and Yang remained consistent in the arena as they played with complete confidence and set up a huge lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, the in-form Chinese players did not slow down the pace of rallies and clinched the opening set with a superb 21-9 score on the board.
In the second game, the aggressive Xiaoli and Yang did not lose their superiority at any stage and managed to take a reasonable lead in the opening stage.
Xiaoli and Yang continued playing to their maximum potential and they managed to construct a huge gap until the one-minute break.
After the break, the Chinese duo stayed positive and easily grabbed the second set in an inspiring fashion with a one-sided 21-8 score on the board.
Xiaoli and Yang emerged as the winners in this Women’s Doubles semi-final battle as they took just 34 minutes to wind it up with a punishing margin of 21-9 and 21-8.
