BWF World Junior Championships: Yee Han Chong stuns Ka Long Ng in Men’s Singles round-of-16
Malaysia’s emerging shuttler Yee Han Chong stretched his giant killing run and reached into Men’s Singles quarter-final after crushing his higher ranked rival Ka Long Ng of Hong Kong in round-of-16 encounter at the BWF World Junior Championships 2012 for
EYE – Level Cups on Thursday, November 1, in Japan.
The un-seeded Yee Han, who remained impressive in all of his matches in the event, stayed on the right track in the pre-quarter-final battle as he played terrific badminton against the fifth seeded Ka Long and thrashed him in just 35 minutes.
Malaysian shuttler did not show any respect to his higher ranked Hong Kong challenger all the way to end up the contest in a commanding fashion with an inspiring margin on the score board.
In the first game, it was an interesting fight in the initial points but Yee Han showed attacking display of his skills in the arena and started to control the affairs.
Malaysian player kept the tempo of the rallies fast entertained the local crowd with his lofty craft as he did not show any mercy to his rival and started to create gap.
Until the break in opening set, Yee Han was in a strong position as he played with precision and managed to take a reasonable lead on the board.
After the interval, the higher ranked Ka Long tried his best but could not to create trouble for his un-seeded rival and remained struggling to find a good rhythm.
In the meanwhile, Yee Han continued hitting powerful strokes in targeted areas and grabbed the first game with a staggering margin of 21-15.
In the second set, Ka Long geared up his speed and took the bird early but failed to construct pressure on his rival who was on a different level.
However, the Hong Kong shuttler remained stick around his opponent on score board until the end of opening half in the second set.
After the break, Yee Han continued putting up superb show and stretched his lead without any trouble. He remained on track in the ending points and won the set with a 21-18 score on score board.
Yee Han emerged as the winner in this round-of-16 clash in just 35 minutes with a striking margin of 21-15 and 21-18.
