Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 had already been linked to the striker, but now Liverpool have entered the fray and emerged
as potential suitors.
Ba is currently Newcastle’s top scorer with 11 league goals to his name. The player is without a doubt their most important player, and has become a widely sought player ever since he made the move to Tyneside from Upton Park last season.
Scoring 17 league goals in Newcastle’s impressive 5th place finish last season, Ba has emerged as one of the most prolific strikers in the country. The player became a subject of transfer speculation in the summer when the likes of Manchester
United and Arsenal were linked with him.
Then there was the release clause in Ba’s contract which allows him to leave Newcastle at any time during transfer season for a mere fee of £7.5 million, should a team offer to pay the sum that is.
Alan Pardew and the Newcastle managerial staff have tried approaching Ba and his representatives in a bid to remove the clause from his contract, but so far it has not happened.
Ba’s clause will be activated once again when the January winter transfer window opens, and Pardew admits that the player will attract the interest of many clubs, and may leave Tyneside.
The 27-year old further fuelled speculation by admitting it would be a dream to play for a club like Arsenal. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are also said to be interested in the striker, and it remains to be seen just where he’ll end up. The Merseyside outfit are in desperate
need of a target man, and Ba fits the bill.
Andy Carroll had been sent off on loan in the summer to West Ham as he was not considered an ideal front man by new boss Brendan Rodgers and was not deemed suitable to the attacking football philosophy the manager wanted to implement at Anfield. Ba on the
other hand is understood to be Rodgers’ main target this January, and the ideal man to play alongside Luis Suarez.
Amidst all of the speculation, Alan Pardew has admitted that he may struggle to hold on to Ba. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“It’s unfortunate that the contract he has leaves open a lot of questions because we have this clause and every window that comes around, I have to answer the same questions. It would be very disappointing for him to leave in this window for this club and
for his teammates here, but the decision will be his, ultimately, because the clause is there.
