  1. dont worry. my second was slow at talking

we thought she was never going to talk and then she turned 2. now we cant  shut her up. she even talks in her sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Dont worry about it. When my daughter was around that age, she didnt say much. She is 2 in 2 weeks and does not shut up now.

  3. For being a 17 month old baby that is actually very good it means that he understands mama, dada and baba and knows what he wants when pointing at an object. We can really expect our kids to know all the words from the beginning of their childhood but we can aid them into becoming more familiar with what they want to say. I found it easier to use toys for them to learn and I was recommended to this one site by a friend of the family who also uses toys to teach her kids. I leave you the link you might find something useful. Good Luck and Congratulations on his first words!

  4. my baby is also a late speaker and i've taught him to sign. it has helped a lot with tantrums as he isn't as frustrated any more and also he's started trying to say the words he's signing. it's made such a big difference in our daily life.

every baby is different though. is your baby bilingual? that usually means they start talking later but when they do it's in sentances rather than single words.

  5. My son doesn't say an awful lot either - he's also 17 months. He'll say Mummy, Daddy, Shoes, Wow, Cheese, Oh dear, Oh no, No.

    Thats it lol

But he understands. I wouldn't worry too much yet - he'll probably pick loads up all at once :)

  6. this is completely normal and u will notice a remarkable difference in between 24-36 mths when u will beg for some silence
