  1. So you're wanting to illegally get a pet that you're probably not going to be able to take care of properly... if it gets sick you won't be able to take it to a vet (finding a vet that knows anything about alligators is a tricky thing to begin with... finding one that will work on your illegal alligator... good luck.)

Four feet is big enough to ruin your hands... five and a half to six feet is when they reach sexual maturity... puberty... complete with moodiness and constant hunger... eight footer might not kill you, but can easily strip all the meat off your arm or leg.

And for the genius who thinks they stay the size of their tank... you're wrong... all reptiles continue growing throughout their lives... you cannot make a turtle or a snake or an alligator or a lizard stay small by keeping it in a small cage... small cage / small reptile usually boils down to improper care and feeding rather than tank size.

Before trying to figure out what you'd feed your illegal alligator, figure out what you'd do with it after it got too big for you to take care of. 95% of alligator attacks in Florida are linked to feeding... a fed alligator loses it's fear of people even in the wild... a "pet" gator will come running up out of the water snapping and hissing and growling and very happy to bite whoever is around if they don't have food. You CANNOT let a "pet" alligator go. Zoos have all the gators they want or need and rarely will take in a legally owned gator, much less your illegal one... if you live somewhere where there's gator farms, you could maybe give it to a gator farm, but I can just about promise you it will be turned into meat and leather.

You need to do a LOT more research on alligators before you even entertain this idea any more...

  2. i know you just like them and think they might be good pets.i used to think that but i've seen documentaries now that makes me shiver to the bones whenever i see them alligators.they are fairly large but not as large as a crocodile.

they need a lot of space and that means a whole lake.you can feed them some fish.

i suggest you just go to the zoo when it's time for feeding of alligators.some zoo allows visitors to actually feed the animals.neat, huh?

    i hope i helped!

  3. while you're in the business of doing illegals mind if you smuggle a couple of kilos for me?

why the h**l would you do this?

they get to about 13-15 feet

yes but MUCH bigger.. on the order of a thousand times more or so

hands feet.. any part of you you don't want anymore..

don't do this.. what are you going to do with it once it gets to big? feeding it and housing it are going to be small fortunes.. not to mention anybody sees you with it and BOOM! instant jail time

  4. Alligators grow according to their enviroment so if you get a baby one and put it in a fish tank it won't grow very big. You can still take it out but not for long periods of time. I would put in a regular sized fish tank with a tiny bush or a tree, a couple of flat rocks, something for land, and a little pond ( maybe 1/4-1/2 of the tank itself). As for feeding it I would go with tiny fish or chopped raw chicken.

  5. well, i should be reading about you in a couple of years or so. "person gets mauled to death by pet alligator". Its not a pet, they cannot be trained and if they feel like biting you they will, no matter how much you cuddled with them when they were small. i suggest you get a puppy and buy him an alligator costume.

  6. You can guess an alligator's length accurately by guessing the distance between his eyes and nose in inches. For each inch add one foot of length. 4 inches = 4 feet long and so on. (This is one advantage of not using the metric system.)

Dont get a gator you maybe get killed by the gator and people will  reading the death report in the newspaper do you really want to die by being eatin by an alligator  or not.
