  1. Just turn up the air conditioning they can deal with cold better than being really hot, they will most likely sleep the whole way if they dont have a heat lamp for heat so just make sure they don't get hot.

  2. make sure is cage has a thermometer in it, tanks in the heat can be like an oven, put thicker bedding so he will feel less movement. and pick a spot for its tank so he don't gotta keep being moved. as long as the temp is OK just leave him alone to avoid as much stress as possible. cover the tank so its dark, but keep an eye on the temp

  3. Reptiles are packed in large foam containers in little plastic dishes with holes in them.  If they are lucky they have a paper towel with a little water on it for moisture.  Then they are either thrown into an ups truck or into a plane and shipped somewhere here or overseas.  They can be in those containers for up to 48 hrs.  So believe me...just make sure he is warm enough....water, treats and other things will be too stressful for him at this time.  7-9 hours is nothing...good luck on ur trip....!!

  4. For a trip as long as 7-9 hours i would get some chemical heat pads. That is usually what they use when shipping reptiles. They are called uniheat and they last up to 40 hours. They can get too hot sometimes so i would wrap it in a towel and put it on the put side of the container. You can buy them from http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/rept... Also as others have said keep the stress low. and just make sure he is warm. I wouldn`t worry too much about fresh air or stopping every 2 hours to let him out because your car is properly ventilated for you, so you should be fine.

  5. Get a box and put substrate in it, a little water bowl and a rag in one corner so he/she can go there to warm up, and on occasion put it over the heater in the car so he stays warm

  6. Just make sure he is kept warm..try not to use the air conditioning.  Pack some heat packs in his cage with him if you need to.  Make sure you stop every so often and offer him water and maybe a treat or two if you can bring them with you.  The biggest concern is the temperature, though..just keep him warm and he should be fine.

  7. DO NOT put heating pads with liquid filling in with your beardie. He can rip the bag open with his nails and the liquid inside can hurt him.  He should be fine on the trip. Just make sure you feed him before you leave. Also give him at least an hour after eating to bask under his heating lamp (this helps beardies digest their food. He should be good to go after that. Roll up a paper towel and keep it wet so he can have water on the trip. You may want to put his tank in a position for him to look out a window. He would probably love that. Bearded dragons love looking out windows.

  8. I am a new beardie owner too, but I would agree with above and suggest you avoid stressing him out as much as possible also I would recommend trying to keep him to its normal routine ie. cover the terrarium if you are traveling at night when he would normally be asleep and I would recommend you use a digital thermometer to monitor the temperature (if you don't already have one) as they are far more accurate

  9. when reptiles are shipped to petstores and thing like that they are packed in little container that really have no moving space......for up to 48 hours with no food or water.,...he will be fine for 7-9 hours

but if you dont think so just make sure that he is warm

  10. i would role down the windows for air and put him in a small cage and every hour or so take him outside for fresh air
