my crestie when i first got him (the day i got him) he licked up some of his CGD but i don't think he has eaten any since. so i fed him a few crickets. the first time i gave him crickets he ate 8 the 2nd time he ate 6 i gave him crickets 1 time every 2 weeks i'm afraid he isn't eating his CGD and this might be bad for him. how can i tell if he's eating his CGD. and can he live safely on a complete diet of just crickets if he is not eating his CGD? but i will still offer it to him though.

  1. He probably is.  Babies have stomachs that are about the size of HALF of a pea.  They eat VERY little.  Just keep feeing him crickets as you are.  If he's pooping in between then, he's eating it.  Also, feel free to feed crickets once a week instead of every 2 weeks.  The extra protein is great for their growth.

  2. Just keep making the food available, and cut down on the crickets, he knows its food and if he gets hungry enough he will eat it.  He's just gotten used to preferring the tasty live food.
