  1. When they grow older you can tell the gender

If its a female, it has nipples, pink dots on her tummy

Male, well bigger but, and his 'balls' will flop out when he older

Don't introduce them to their father!

    He could eat them...

    Good luck :D

  2. dont intuduce to father until full size. when they have their eyes open and have fur look on the inernet for pic to see what it it looks like for males and females and just hold them on back and compare to pictures

  3. not sure how you can find out. iv had aa hamster for a year and a half and im still not sure if its male or female!

i wouldnt introduce them to the father as theres a good chance theyll get eaten.

  4. Click on the following link. It will help you with finding out the genders of your hamster babies -

They are only 2.5 weeks old currently. You can still keep them with the mother and can separate them when they are 4 weeks old. You have to separate the males from the females when they are 5 weeks old since they can mate among themselves and it is not good for the female's health.

Are they syrian hamsters or dwarf hamsters? If syrian, you will have to keep one to a cage when they are 6 weeks old. If they are dwarfs, you can leave the females with the mother in her cage and put the males separately in another cage.

It is not a good idea to introduce the father to the baby hamsters unless you are absolutely sure that he would not harm them. The reason being there have been cases of the father hamster fighting viciously with the new hamsters.

  5. if they have been separated from their dad then you shouldnt re-introduce them as he may eat them. when they are big enough you should look at the distance between their a**s and genitals. the ano-genital distance on a male is twice that of the females. hope you understand what i mean. also boys will have testicles that will be quite obvious, ladies have nipples and smaller genitals

  6. ask them

  7. I would keep them away from any hamster other than their mother until they are big enough to defend themselves. You probably won't be able to tell if they are male or female until you start to see little fuzzy balls on some of them. If no fuzzy balls appear then assume that they are all female.
