Question:

Baby Milksnake?

I have a milksnake that just shed well in one piece yesterday, but the problem is that it doesn't wanna eat, kinda makes me confused >.<

I've tried to give it the smallest pinky i ever get but it doesn't touch it. I'm worried because it didn't eat last week due to shedding period, then if it won't eat again this week, that would make it fast for 2 weeks already.

Also, my milksnake (baby) rarely use its hide box but instead it likes to rest on tiny spaces like the space between hide box and the glass wall cage.

Could u guyz give me advice to encourage him to eat again? And also bout the hide box, should i get another one or is it the reason why it doesn't wanna eat? (can't use hide box)

Thanks a lot ^^

  1. i always feed live pinkies to my baby corn snakes and if they dont eat right away i put them in a brown paper bag with the pinky overnight so that they can be in a small dark place. just fold the bag down about 3 times and tape it shut. this has always worked for me even with the really stubborn ones =]

if that doesnt work maybe the temperature might be off a little or maybe he just needs company

  2. try cutting open the pinky's skull and let some brain leak out (nasty I know) but, if their eyes are covered they can smell the brain pretty well. you can also try feeding her in a paper bag.

Put her and a pinky in a closed paper bag for about 45 min.

    good luck,

I wouldnt leave her in overnight, I would put the bag back in her habitat slightly open/or with a hole, she'll find her way out when shes ready!

  3. I've heard that whenever snakes shed, they go through a couple of weeks where they're practically blind, and very unpredictable. They like to go into little corners and hide... In a couple of days I would think that your snake should be back to normal.

    Hope that helped!!

Do a search on google about snakes shedding and it will explain it a little better. :)

  4. Sometimes their eyes get covered when they shed. Maybe she can't see as well...
