Question:

Baby Nursery Idea - Opinions Needed?

Normally a nursery has a theme. Bears, Ducks, Tinker Bell, Winnie the Pooh, etc. I want my child to have a theme to it's room. But I want it to be a unique theme, one that will be specifically special to my child but not so hard to find things to buy for it.

I was thinking of having a pit bull themed nursery. Pit Bulls are normally loving, caring, protective, sweet pets when they are raised correctly. It would have pictures, blankets, lamps, curtains, etc all pit bulls. It would be a very unique theme but not so hard to find things to buy for it. And that's how I want my child to feel: loved, cared for, protected. Not just by it's family, to have a sort of guardian angel.

What is your opinion of this theme?

  1. Are you serious? I don't like it. But it's your baby's nursery. It doesn't matter what I think.

  2. We chose rain forest theme , bright colors are good for baby

  3. I'm all for equality in dog breeds but the fact is that most people view a pit bull as more of a scary/vicious guard dog. Other people will probably make a weird face when they see the room. Then again it is your baby & our house. Who knows maybe you'll start a new trend.

  4. not my favorite theme. i wanted to do harry potter but decided to wait until i have a toddler to do that. ummm, regardless of what you chose it should be childlike and pit bull's aren't even on my list of top 25 things that i think about when i think about children. but if that is really what you want to do... go for it.

  5. I think Pit Bulls are a bit threatening for a baby theme. I definitely understand what you're going for but to me it's a little too stereotypically 'mean'. Thinking along the same lines as your idea (strong yet sweet), maybe you could consider something jungle-y? There are so many interesting strong jungle animals that could work. Something a little less 'mean' could be elephants. They are known to be 'gentle giants', but they are tough and strong but use don't use their size for anything 'negative'. Or, if you're looking for something a little more tough and strong, maybe lions or tigers. Kids can relate since they are seemingly 'big' versions of kitties, but they are also exotic and smart.

Good luck! Hope I helped :)
