Question:

Baby Quilt?

I am making my soon to be half brother a quilt for his mother's babyshower. I have just over 20 days.

I don't know what I want the theme to be!!

I'm obsessed with hockey, so I was thinking a cute hockey fabric with a solid back, but now I am thinking maybe more of a babyish theme...

any ideas?!

  1. I would suggest before you make the quilt - wash /dry and iron the fabrics to make sure they are colour fast. If you use a  simple solid coloured pattern of square blocks- say beige/ orange/taupe colour scheme then this will endure for a few years - It would be good to make sure that it is 100% cotton, top and bottom,as well as the quilt batting so that if the baby has any skin allergies, cotton will be OK.

    Have fun!

  2. Think of him dragging this much loved quilt around for years. Choose something that won't look too babyish when he is cuddling with it as a four year old.

You could choose fabrics to represent different sports or go ahead and do just hockey so you can start influencing him to be a hockey star.

  3. I think cute sports or car theme with cartoonish pattern will be best for infant boys.
