Baby Registry Question?

Question

Why is when you invite people to your baby shower they see you have a registry but still ask what you want? I tell them what we have and we need everything else, but then they say ok so what do you want? I tell them you can print out the registry off at Target. What else do I tell them? I can't keep track of who I told to buy what. What would you do?

my step mom does this it annoys me. When she asks i tell her i have registry's at target and wal mart and won't tell her anything else.

it was useless to tell people what we wanted.  we registered at Target, WalMart and Babies R Us and still got the majority of what people wanted to get us.  we've been more than blessed to have had 5 baby showers and within 3 into it i started to really panic because we got all the goodies and not the big things we needed...stroller, crib, car seat etc.  well with #5 we had received it all and some.  now the real work starts by washing and putting it all in it's place =).  don't worry you'll get what you need.  Don't forget to mention gift cert.   we've got a few which will help for the little things we didn't get...good luck.

People never go to your registry it is so frustrating.

Tell them you want a gift card to Target. Then,you can buy the things on your registry you didn't get.

i currently have a registry and am afraid of that question. I would go to the store and print out a couple copies of your registry list, so when people ask, just be like, "here you go"

Just tell them to use their best judgement on the registry.  Say something like "Oh, you'll pick something great I know it."

the "kosher" answer to "what do you want" for any gift-giving occasion (incl birthdays) is 'please don't feel obligated to bring a gift.  let's just have fun! but if you want to bring one, here is my registry list.'

well... you can say the theme that you'd like... lets just say... dark colors, animals, sports, baby colors... etc...

exactly what you are doing.. if they still ask say okay well you know what i want.. a million dollars.. become smart with them. obviously they arent getting the picture.

I would just tell everyone in a polite way...we have recieved so much and this is such a hectic time for us its hard to keep track of what we all have, so your best bet would be to view our registry. unless its like grandma and she wants to make you a blanket or something. good luck. it might also help out to get a note book and make lists of everything you tell people to buy.
