  1. If you can pick it up with a glove on or a plastic bag and get it back in the nest without spooking the other baby out, do it. (DO NOT pick it up with your bare hands, your scent could drive the parents away from the nest permanently.)  It will die if not back in the nest shortly (predators, cold, etc.).  If you don't think you can get it back in, call your local vets office, they may know of a bird sanctuary that can raise it and release it back into the wild.

  2. If you can safely put the baby back in the nest, that is the best thing to do.  If not, find a box (or tupperware container) that the baby can't easily climb out of, put the baby in, and set it on a low branch or even a chair at the base of the tree.  As long as the parents can locate the baby (by sound or sight), they will continue to care for it.  If the baby has feathers, it may be a "fledgling" - which is a baby bird that is ready to begin learning to fly.  Often they don't fly right out of the nest and need some time to "get it right".  The parents will continue to watch and feed the baby, even if it is out of the nest.  Just make sure the baby is not going to be eaten by a cat or some other predator.

Whatever you do, don't try to "raise" it yourself.  Thanks for caring enough to do something.

    Good luck.

    EDIT

Momma birds rejecting the babies because of human scent is an old wives' tale.  Most song birds can't smell, so no truth to that at all.  Do NOT attempt to care for this bird yourself.  One, it is illegal without a permit.  Two, you can do more harm than good.

  3. Leave it alone, it's mom will take care of it even though it's not in it's nest. She'll still feed it from the ground. It's best to not touch it cause then she might reject it if she smells your scent on it. Baby robins die a lot because they always hop out and get eaten by cats and stuff. If you really want to, you can buy bird formula and a dropper and take care of it yourself... but that would be a very long hard boring job.

  4. Make a little box house for it and feed it wet dog food believe my it works
