Question:

Baby Savannah Monitor Tank.?

I currently have my baby savannah monitor in a 10G tank. He is currently 6 inches long and will soon outgrow his tank. My question is should I put him in a 55 gallon tank now or should I put him in a smaller tank like 40-45? I heard that they can become stresses out very easily when they are smaller with alot of spaces. Thank you for your answers!

  1. i would put him in there as a temp cage but u will have to build him a big enclosure right now wut i do for my babys i have ruber maids and they grow with them and its cheaper get a few and that will work just let it grow as he grows i have a 7inch baby in a 10 gallon but next a lil bit bigger u just want them to have a good roaming room

  2. Yes I would put him in the bigger tank, I lost 2 lizards to overheating in a 10 g tank and they were baby collared lizards (a lot smaller then your sav is now). If you move him to a 40-45 g tank then you will have to move him again and again and that will stress the poor little guy out too. The 55 should be able to house him for quite a while, give him plently of places to hide and that should cut down on some stress. Remember that they grow to 6 feet and will need an even bigger enclosure when fully grown.

  3. 55 but not now about when he is 10-15 inches so hes not stressed out.
