My baby savannah monitor is eating well and I have all my temperatures right, but he won't eat mealworms or snails. The only thing I can get him to eat are crickets and he eats them with no problem, any suggestions to getting him to eat anything else?

  1. I have the same exact problem. So what I did was put the crickets and worms in at the same time. He ate 2 out of the 4 I put in but he ate them! Also try little minnow or guppy size fish from like petsmart. They are about 12 cents each. Just a little something different. The first time I gave my baby the fish he didnt know what to do. Try to feed him the fish first and let if flop around and if he doesnt eat that then try the worms and if all else fails give them the crickets.

  2. if hes hungry h**l eat them.leave them in there long enough for him to eat them or else h**l become spoiled and then he wont eat them at all.

  3. As long as he is eating, I wouldn't really worry about it. As long as your crickets are gut loaded, then they are nutritionally fine.

As he gets bigger, you can start feeding him baby mice and such

  4. Stick with crickets and pinky mice for now. You could try wax worms and meal worms and even earth worms occasionally.

Snails aren't really a good idea.
