We are in Ilfracombe and have a baby Seagull stuck on our roof. It has been sqwarking for about 3 nights now, we don't think the parents are coming back for it and it seems to be suffering. Who can we call to come and rescue it or give us advice? It is keeping us all awake and driving us mad!

  1. phone the rspb the number should be in local phone book x

  2. i think RSBP,  or any local animal protection agencies. check online or in phone book

  3. the rspca should be able to help the number should be in your local telephone directory

  4. Seagulls, as you will know are protected and when this happens here we either call the RSPB or the RSPCA which ever we can get hold of that will help. (i'm in folkestone) Good luck hun.

  5. Call the animal rescue team. Their number according to where you live should be on Yahoo! search. Just look it up and type your area.

  6. Aw poor little thing! I live in Torquay and have had similar probs. I would recommend a local rescue team as they are usually more willing to help than the RSPCA.

Look up local animal charities on your search engine.

Goodluck and hope you get a good nights sleep soon!

  7. Contact someone who owns a pump action shot gun =]

  8. is it still running around? was it born on u r roof?

the parents should be hanging around somewhere, unusual for both to disappear!

  9. the RSPB then they may tell you to ring RSPCA

  10. If it hasn't eaten for 3 days it will be dead!

A baby bird's metabolic rate is so high that after 48 hours without anything it is beyond rescue, so it is probable that "someone" is getting food to it.

  11. We have loads of them in our roof and in the garden, they are fine, really.  The parents are probably just trying to encourage him to be a little more independant.  I had one in the garden the other day squarking away so I filled a tray with water and put out some bread and he was quite happy.  Really, don't worry at all - its nature.

  12. Call the RSPB but doubt they will do anything my nan had this problem last year the parents never came back but it just flew away in its own time. Took about 2-3months before it actually finally went.

  13. Call the RSPCA they should come and get it.

We called them when a pigeon was caught in netting at our local church and they arranged for the fire brigade to come and rescue it.

  14. call the fire and rescue service. it sounds extreme but under the IRMP (a goverment thing) this is one of there roles. humanitarian rescues (rescuing animals in distress). When they attend they will call the rspca who should also attend.
