Baby-Sitting Question?

My friend and I are baby-sitting for 4 little boys tonight! The youngest is going into first grade... Are there any games or things we should play to keep them busy instead of going crazy?

  1. They probably have games, so see if they want to play one or two of their favorites.  And be sure to let them cheat and win.  That will make you one of their more favorite babysitters.

  2. THe best games are the simplest.  Bring a bag of marbles,  an old deck of playing cards, paper cups......anything you can find that is cheap or old and you don't care if it gets broken or bent.

You just make up the games.  They have to roll a marble closest to a cup.  Closest wins.  They have to stand up and drop a marble into a cup.  Whoever gets 2 marbles "in a row" into the cup wins---no fair bending over to get closer.

The kids probably have 100 games but they are tired of their own games.  THey will want to have the babysitter who makes up the new, cool games.  That is you.  So think of the silliest games and try them all.  You will see which ones the kids like.

You can take pennies and flick them so they spin on a table. All 4 kids spin them at the same time.  Longest penny spinning is the winner.

Put blindfolds on them and have them find something without looking.  In a small area so they don't walk into walls.   The kids will cheat by trying to look around the edge of the blindfold but that is part of the fun.  They have to stop walking when they think they are near the object you want them to find.

You can bring clothes from your parents closet that are ready to be thrown out.  Kids will act like it's silly to dress in grown-up clothes until they start doing it- then they like it.

You can think of many more.  I hope you make a Million dollars babysitting.

  3. well, if you can get ahold of a Wii that would be great...That could keep any one from going crazy! lol..If not that, hide and seek if the inside of the house is big enough..Or any board game if possible.

  4. Well little boys are unpredictable so you should always be prepared for everything, so The TV is your best bet. Maybe some hide and seek keep em' from fighting, and always know if a fight was about to break out who is right. (I have a little brother and sister that i had to take care of on my own when my dad was away and all their little friends too)

  5. Kids like board games.  They like hide-n-seek.  Kids like to make a mess.  Put some newspaper around the table or floor and finger paint or paint with water color.  You could find some sort of artsy thing for them to do.  They would probably like to make something for their mom or dad.  Kids love hands on things.

  6. simon sez, any board games they have around the house,

perhaps a matchbox car derby, contest for best picture, stickers , play pirates and dress up in whatever you can find around the house, play in the yard ,hide some toys and try to find them , hot potato , musical chairs , read books
