  1. There are reasons it is against federal regulations to sell turtles under 4" long, and in most states, it is illegal to catch wild turtles, especially babies.

About 90% of captive bred turtles purchased by the typical keeper will die within about 18 months. This is truly a form of animal abuse of an animal that should live 20 years easily.

After all, if 90% of baby puppies sold died in the first 3 months, there would be a national uproar and demands that this horror be corrected! It is not 'ok' just because it involves turtles.

Now- if you are REALLY ready for a baby turtle- the $150-300 costs for start-ups, plans for dealing with the adult turtle that lives 20 years, etc.- then try the forums at http://www.turtleforum.com and look for a reliable breeder, ideally in your area.

  2. i actually got mine a long time ago at a flea market i got 2 ($10 each)

  3. Go to www.kingsnake.com.It's GREAT

Btw don't go to turtlesale they ship sick turtles, and die in a couple of days.

    hope i helped

  4. Go to www.turtlesale.com. They will not sell them to you, because that's illegal. Instead they will adopt them to you.(For a price of course) They have  baby turtles and adult turtles. And every kind of turtle you can imagine. There are also turtle specialists on a live chat system that their online store provides that will answer any questions you might have.

    Hope this helps!

  5. my sister had the same problem. She just adores baby turtles. No pet shop  can sell them, it is illegal. So i reccomend going to the beach or just going to chinatown, where my isster got two baby red eared slifders.
