Question:

Baby bangs her head on the floor?

My girl is so busy, she is crawling everywhere. All of sudden she will roll so fast onto her back that her head hits the floor with a loud bang. She rarely seems phased and seems ok after- just keeps on going. The floor is carpeted thank goodness. Wondering if she can hurt herself? Can't seem to stop her though- help ease a worry wart of a mother's mind -Thanks!

  1. If she dose not seemed phased by it im sure she will be fine just keep an eye on her my 10 month old is the same its a nightmare but just watch for anything hard she could bang her head on all kids get hurt there stonger than you think Good Luck.

  2. Short of putting her a safety helmet on .... no, there isn't much you can do. (Got a picture in my head now if a little baby in a crash helmet LOL) It helps that you have carpet as well and if she's fine then just leave her. She has to learn and she is so close ot the floor she can't do that much damage.

  3. hi. my son is 21 months old and he hits is head on the floor too. i told the doctor and they said to tell them no and try and take his mind off it. my son only does it when hes mad. so before he can do it i tickle him to make him laugh. but i really dont know what else to do. i cant stop him either

  4. She CAN hurt herself.... but babies that are crawling around, generally if they do not wail about it, will be okay.

Most parents rush away to pick up and coddle the baby, but, they are fine. They need to be able to explore and such. She will be fine. I would, however, install child safety locks and bumpers on tables and put down a rug or something for her to crawl on, to provide something soft between her head and the floor. Ease up mom, she's just growing and learning.

  5. Baby's don't have their sense that they can hurt themselves yet. If they fall, they won't try to catch themselves. You should try to slow her down if possible. Perhaps she is ready to walk too :)

  6. It can't hurt that bad if she's doing it again...I wouldn't worry about it until she does start to cry.

  7. my girl done this a lot before hs estarted walking, im sure you little on will be fine.

although, on a lighter note, have a look at this, i found it quite funny, but people actually use these for their kids!
