  1. Yes, you CAN put the nest back AND put the chicks back into it and the parnets will still care for them.  If the nest does not stay or you are afraid it is not stable and might fall again..put the whole nest with chicks into a basket with handle and tie the nest in place in the original nest location (or as close as you can get it).  Do not worry about your scent being on the chicks as birds have a poorly developed sense of smell and will not abandon due to being touched by human hands.  Keep in mind when these babies are ready to leave the nest, they will leave before they can fly and will be hopping around, so will be vulnerable to your dogs getting them.  Always check your yard for chicks before letting the dogs run loose.

  2. put the nest back up where it was and put the birds back in it

  3. I would put the nest back up and see if Momma comes to get them. If you can put them in the nest and put it back, that would be super. Usually, Momma will.come back.  If 3 days go by, you'll have to rescue them because they'll become dehydrated. Call a local vet who cares for birds or your state outdoor commission and find out what they need to eat. I had a mixture I had to make. They grow so fast and so cute! But careful- they're usually covered with fleas. If you don't want to raise them, please have them humanely put down.

  4. LET THE MOMMA HANDLE IT...KEEP THE DOGS IN THE HOUSE...

  5. Let the mama handle it.  Or call animal control.

  6. I have seen this happen multiple times. Calling animal hospitals and shelters doesn't work. They could care less about baby birds. I always used to find injured or fallen birds and take them to animal hospitals. All they said was ..." Sorry we cant help you just leave it where you found it" I would put it back in the tree if you can. Also the mom will come back to it even if you touch it. The whole dont touch baby birds thing is a myth.

  7. ya the first girl that ansewered is right ( sept for maby the animal control part they are more for stray animals ) dont toch the birds unless you want to take care of them or let them die cause the mom bird wont go near them once you have toched them dont toch the nest ether

  8. do this with gloves gentally take the baby birds and place them in the nest then put them back where they where in the first place and if you dont no where it is put it in a place pretty high up where preditors cant get it and where the mamma can get them though also dont put it to high up so if they fall again it wont be fadle.

  9. It is an old wives tale that if a human touches the baby birds that the mother will abandon them.  Even though it'll be a pain in the butt letting the dogs out on a leash everytime I would leave them where they are.  If the mom knows where they are she will figure out something.  If you end up moving the baby birds and the nest she might not be able to find them and they'll starve and die.

I am no bird expert or anything but it is just my own opinion.

  10. you might call the animal control, (sometimes this don't work) or try to put the nest back where you find it! Then the next day check to see if the mother came back or is there! But check in a safe distamce or elese you'll scare it's mother! OIfshe hadn't come back or the nest is not okay then you're in trouble!

  11. put the nes back up and with gloves put the baby birds back in the nest don't touch them with your skin or breath on them becaue then other birds or the mom will kill them good luck!

  12. If you can get them back in the tree this is best.  If you need to you can make a nest out of an ice cream pail or something similar and attach it to the tree.  If the parents are around they will feed them from there as long as they feel safe.  Baby birds can be handled as birds have a very poor sense of smell and will not reject their babies.  If you need to feed them then please do not give worms, as they can cans gapeworm, which can be fatal, do not give and liquid into their mouths.  Instead soak dog food into the consistency of oatmeal and feed on the end of a stir stick or a straw. Please go to www.starlingtalk.net and join the meassage board where there are many knowledgeable people to help you.  They helped me when I was in the same situation.... Good Luck!

  13. Try putting the nest back where you think it was. Check on them the next day and see if the mother has found them yet and to make sure all is ok. If you want to try to raise them, youd have to go to the vet and get some special formula for them. Ive raised wild birds before.
