Baby food and diapers in Italy?

I am going to Sicily for vacation. Was wondering if I should pack diapers and food for my baby or buy it there. We will be staying at a home (not a Hotel) for two weeks. What brands are in Italy for food and diapers?

You'll find everything you'll need to care for your child in Sicily... and more. You'll also find a people who are "child friendly" and don't mind having kids around. Ask your neighbors for help - don't be shy and you'll find that many will be willing to help.

I live in Italy and have a 26-month-old son. I can assure you that you can find all modern baby supplies here. You should only have to carry the supplies that you will need for the trip.

The only issue may be if you need certain brands, particularly as it relates to baby milk and food -- you shouldn't change the formula your baby uses. If you baby needs to eat special foods/has special formula you may need to check with the manufacturer to see if it is available. I can tell you that among the easier to find brands here are Plasmon, Nestle, Mellin and Nipiol, but there are not the more popular U.S. brands such as Gerber or Beech Nut.

For diapers, Pampers and Huggies are available as well as local brands -- although the styles can be different than what you can find in the states.

Also note that baby formula, food and supplies are available in grocery stores but also in pharmacies here in Italy. Sometimes, believe it or not, pharmacies have a better selection and better prices. (Although, I will warn you that prices for these things in Italy tend to be much more than in the rest of Europe and the U.S., so be prepared to pay more.)

If you are picky then you should pack diapers and baby food, otherwise you can find it here in grocery stores and pharmacies.  Baby food brands, most popular ones are Plasmon and Mellin.  As for diapers, you can find Pampers here.  Good luck and have fun in Sicily!

Be aware that Italian baby food is delicious, I still steal it from my baby cousins even if I'm 20, ahahahah!

On the contrary British baby food is awful,don't ever try it
