Baby heartrate is 156. does that mean a girl?

my little girls has been in the upper 160's especially early on.  It is now in the upper 150's now and I am almost 28 weeks.

according to old wives tales, a heartrate above 140 is a girl and below 140 is a boy. mine has been in the 150 range all the way through 15 weeks. my 20 week sono is next week and ill find out for sure. i have friends and a few family members who have used this as a gender prediction, and have been proven correctly. good luck!

no my son has 150 plus usuallly and 140 last time i went. So really these kind of things dont mean anything.

Dosent mean anything my babies heartrate was 160 and it turned out a boy.

My baby was 163 and i ended up having a boy so don't believe the whole fast heart beat means girl slow one means boy because i did and it turned out not to be true

Babies heartrates go up and down all the time, dont just think its a girl because of what you hear.  All the pregnancy quiz's I took online all said girl, went had an ultrasound 2weeks ago and its a boy...

The only reliable way to determine the s*x of a baby in the uterus is through amniocentesis which you don't want to do just for curiosity because it can cause (among other things) premature birth.

The only other way to find out is through a sonogram, but sometimes it is hard to see the fetus's genitals, or they may look "undefinable".

All other methods don't work at all. You'll love the baby no matter what bits it has.

No my son is usually between 142 and 160. He's never been below 140.

When you get your ultrasound at around 20 weeks, that's when you'll know what you're having.  Those ultrasound techs know what they're doing and are pretty darned accurate.

i asked my dr the same question.  he told me that the baby's heart rate will be different at certain times of the day.  i guess it all depends on when he checks.  yeah it stinks cause i wanted to know so bad too. when i was pregnant all signs pointed toward a boy and i had a beautiful little girl!  good luck.
