  1. he may be hungry, windy, wet or tired. if he's not got wind, not hungry and not wet or dirty, try putting on soothing music and rocking him in your arms.

  2. Well if he's not hungary, or got a dirty diaper, or an upset stomach and rocking him doesnt help put him in the bed and leave him and if after bout 15 min he doesnt calm down then I dunno

  3. TRY GIVING HIM A CUP OF MILK AND PUT ON A MOVIE HE LIKES.. LAY DOWN WITH HIM.

  4. Does the baby usually have a pacifier?  Does he have a blanket he likes?  A certain toy?  And of coarse dypers dirty? Is he hungry?  Does he go to sleep with a bottle?  All these things can be helpful as well.

  5. Sometimes, cranky babies just won't sleep. Do you know if he is teething? I was fortunate to have a quiet little guy, even when teething he was not that bad. On the odd occasion his teeth were bugging him enough a shot of tylenol seemed to help (I would not do that without parents ok)

Depending on age, (less than 5-6 months) wrap snuggly in a blanket - like literally pin his arms to his side with the blanket (not enough to cut off circulation - just so he can't pull them out) rock him, and hum, sing, whatever you feel comfortable with. If he is older than that, just cover him in a blanket, cuddle and hum/sing. Always worked for my little one - Good Luck

  6. Babies usually cry if they're hungry or gassy.... I think it's awesome your babysitting your nephew.. but if I was you... I would print out (as a gift to your sister/brother) a thing called babysitternotes... i looked it up here are a few different links someplaces sell dry erase versions that can be put on the fridge. Its just a checklist....helpful hints , important info such as how to reach the parents in case of emergeny , allergies special instructions.....Its so easy to forget to tell the sitter something....

these are just a few but they're so helpful!

  7. Depends on how old he is. Some times a warm bath and a little let loose time in the tub will help calm them down and relax them for a nap!
