  1. its just nervous mine still does it but  it dosent bite me just bites my girlfriend and i love my iguana they grow so quick and are great pets

  2. Hi there!  Igs, particularly babies, shed often and will continue to do so throughout their lives.  Keep the humidity up during shdding times or make sure to provide a nice bath or pool that he can submerge in.  As for the handeling, that comes with time and trust.  Remember...you're ALOT bigger than a baby ig, you look like Godzilla!  Start slow, offer treats from your palm and wait for him to step up and just hold him for a little while.  Persistance and patience are key with reptiles.  Good luck!

  3. I used 2 have an iguana 2. Just remember that they are not very social animals (they are reptiles) and my iguana (who I rescued from some neighborhood boys). Your iguana probably won't exactly rush to you when you try to pick it up. It's just not their nature. That doesn't mean you should give up on the little guy, however. Just keep on trying to pick it up (and by some tough gloves, if it decides to whip you, it hurts like h**l!) and maybe, eventually he'll calm down.

  4. Shedding is perfectly normal, and a young iguana will certainly shed quite a bit as they double in size their first six months!

Taming an iguana is different from case to case.  To properly tame an iguana requires a great deal of effort.  You should handle the iguana every day whether he/she runs or not.  Some iguanas seem to tame rather quickly, but most do not.  It can possibly take up to 2 years of daily interaction before an iguana becomes tame.  The time is worth it though, as a tame iguana becomes a very good companion and pet, seeking out attention and enjoying interaction.  In rare occasions, though, certain iguanas may never become tame and always prefer to be left alone.
