  1. You can take a trip to the doctor!

  2. turn on the shower as hot is it will go and sit on the tolit in the bathroom with the door closed sit there for like 5-7 min letting baby breath in the steam. it will help loosen up everything then clean out his nose with the bulb thingy (whatever it is called) and repeat as needed works like a charm for my son. you can also use saline nose drops put 2-3 drops in each side of the nose and suck out  with the bulb thiny but i think the steam works best

  3. I would take him to the doctor. When my son was 4 months old he had a bit of a bad cough the doc. sayed he was fine but 3 days later he was put in the hospital for bronchiolitis( infilabation of the small air passages in the lungs ) due to RSV.  he had breathin treatments every 3 hours for 3 days. It's better to be safe than sorry.

  4. Assuming you're baby sleeps in a cot try putting books under the legs at the head end in order to raise it to slant. This will help to stop the catarrh from running back in to the throat and minimise the chance of choking.

I live in the UK and do not know if u r from here or USA. Here we have something called Olbas drops which you can drip a little of onto your baby's pyjamas or bedding and this will ease congestion. I imagine something similar will be able where you live.

As for the cough, everyone I know agrees that that baby cough medicines are a waste of time. Encourage fluids and wait for this to pass. Obviously if the symptoms are persistent contact a doctor who may prescribe something to help.

  5. first use a suction to take out the snot then call the doctor.
