I really like the name Kady or Cady For a girl. ALthough am not a huge fan of Katie, probably because i relate that name to a girl i dont really like and Katie is such a common name and i want the name to bekind of different which Kady is i think.

I think it just kind of sound like i am saying Katie though when i say Kady, so im thinking everyone will just think her name is katie which i dont want, so hsould i avoid that name completely?

What do you guys think??

Thanks

  1. Don't name her Kady if it reminds you of someone negative! Give her a name that rhymes with Kady!  Sadie, Mady

  2. Hi. Your right Katie is too common. I dont really like kady, but I do like Kaylie or Kaylee. Its not common but it not to boyish like kady. Other names i like are:

    Molly or Molli

    Alexandra

    chelsea

    Kaylie

    Rebekkah

    Madeline

  3. Don't saddle your child with a name that she'll spend a lifetime correcting the spelling and/or pronunciation of.  Children grow up to be adults, and have to interact with others.  How would you like to be the person with the name nobody spells or pronounces correctly?

  4. I think it is Katie spelled wrong. I don't think it is a good name. How about just go with Katie. Or you can do Katelyn and make Katie a nick name

  5. avoid katie completely and name her veronica jayne

  6. Katey, Catey

i have a friend Caitrin but Caity is what we call her :)

    how about something hyphenated like:

    Katey-Grace

    Catey-Rose

  7. I guess its cute, but I really think that Katie is respelled WAY too much

  8. I have always liked the name Cady, as a nickname.  I love the name Cadence, Cady or Cadie ( I just prefer ie to y at the end of that name) would be a nickname for it.  It is close to Katie but I think there is enough differnce in the name people would get it. If you really like the name I would go for it.

  9. Yeah, there's no difference in pronunciation.  People will always assume that her name is Katie, and she will spend her whole life having to get things reprinted ... like her name on her senior yearbook, or the wedding announcement in the newspaper, or her diplomas.  I would select a different name.

  10. I think you're right, they are very similar and Katie is such a well known name many people will confuse them.

Your little girl will have to waste too much important "first impressions" time spelling her name.

Go for Kate, Katie, Caitlyn (Irish version of Catherine - Caitie) or maybe find some new inspiration.

    There's lots on this website:

  11. Kate is a nice name and it works as a stand-alone name, not just a nickname for Katherine. From Kate you could make the nickname Katy or Kady I supposed - I'd like your daughter spell it how she likes. Sometimes girls want to be trendy.. "Kati" or something.

  12. I'd call her Cadence or Caden with the nickname Cady. That way, she could introduce herself as 'Cadence/Caden, but you can call me Cady', so people would know the difference. I really like it, it's an adorable name! =)

    Good luck!

  13. I prefer and like the name Katie, but if you are for the way i think you want to say it just spell it as Caddie.  I like that spelling a lot better than Cady and Kady.

  14. i think they are too similar.

  15. i agree with you, everyone will mipronounce it her whole life.  i would stick to Katie or just drop the name

  16. well kady is a great name, but to avoid the confusion with catie spell it deferently,
