Have any of you had the perfect name picked out for your little angel but after he/she was born you decided he/she did not look like that name and picked something else? What name had you planned on, what did the baby look like, and what name did you change it to? Or did you see the baby, you didn't think the chosen name fit, but you used it anyway?

  1. Aww, are you getting anxious? Thinking Genevieve isn't the best name?

Don't worry! When you see your daughter (or son! you still don't know! you might not have to be as anxious as you are!) you will know the perfect name =)

Edit: He sounds precious. I'm glad you stuck with the name!

  2. Yes when I was pregnant with my first if it was a girl I wanted to name her Madison (this was 9 years ago before it was quite so popular).  It was a boy so we named his Thomas.  With my second I knew it was a girl and was still stuck on Madison.  The moment I looked at her I knew she wasnt a Madison at all!  She had red hair and bright blue eyes and so I named her Karli Michelle.  It fits her to a t!  She is spunky and full of life and I could not imagine calling her Madison.

  3. my mom did that, so excited with her first child, always wanted to name her daughter breeana, doctor came in, "CONGRATS ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL BABY BOY!" boy?!?!?! oops

  4. That happened with my fiance... and my sister... and my "neice".  My fiance ended up getting a family name, my sister ended up being a girl so Mathew didnt fit anymore, and my neice just didnt look like an Emily - so we named her chelse.

My fiance and i are just going in there with a list of names we like, and seeing what fits her.

  5. yes, i had Lindsey picked out for my baby daughter. when she was born, she did not look like a Lindsey at all, which i thought was a name for a blond haired girl. my daughter had pitch black curly hair, so i named her Rachel. it fit her, and she loves her name to this day. she is 19 years old now, and i could not imagine her as a Lindsey at all.
