  1. that sounds great the one pronounced killian because sillion sounds like a tablet

  2. Check out this website I found.. it has lists of the top Irish boys/girls names.. see what you can figure out.. congrats & good luck. xo

  3. Killian is very cute. I don't think cillian is very attractive, and will pry get spelled wrong a lot (which most school age kids think it's funny and your child will not think it's so funny)

I also like the name "Keegan"

  4. They're both pronounced the same way - with a 'k' sound.  I've never heard of Cillian being pronounced sillian.  Most (if not all) Irish words that start with c are pronounced with a k sound.

  5. Killian

  6. i don't really know too much about irish pronunciations... but i suppose it cillian would be said with a /sss/ sound... =/

i think that Killian is a cuter name though ^o^

  7. It sounds like sillian. There's an actor called Cillian Murphy and this is how he pronounces it. The name means strife/battle.

Personally I love Irish names but that's not one of my favourites. Perhaps you could suggest something like Connor, Aidan or Ryan.

  8. I have a cousin called Cillian. Pronounced with a hard C, like Killian. I like it, it reminds me of Cillian Murphy, you know who played Scarecrow in Batman. He's gorgeous :)

EDIT* Cillian Murphy's first name is pronounced "Kill ian" not "Sill ian". I don't think "Sillian" is a name.

  9. Killian sounds like a beer and Cillian sounds like an antibiotic.

  10. Killian is okay but wouldn't be my choice for a son. Cillian is indeed pronounced Sillian. Read these boy's names to your boyfriend & see if he likes these Irish names instead.

    Aiden

    Blaine

    Brendon/Brendan

    Brian/Bryan

    Caleb

    Michael

    Patrick

    Sean/Shawn

    Shane

    Connor

    Caleb

    Kyle

    Ethan

  11. yes i think most people would pronounce it with a "s" because of words like penicillin- plus that would open him up to all kinds of teasing.. silly, sissy..ect-- BUT Killian! thats different a great strong name not to mention a d**n good beer:) oh i can't wait for a beer:) im due in 4 days.... Love the name Killian

  12. If Cillian is pronounced with an s sound I definitely like killian better. And I also like that spelling better too even if the pronunciation is the same.

  13. Gwydion is neato and totally Celtic... and it doesn't look like Killer

  14. unless you are in ireland... i'd say us americans would pronouce them the same way... i personally love the name killian and would spell it with a K... just like the tasty beer!

  15. i dont really like either of those. they sound like diseases (sorry!) but i would pronounce killian like kill-ee-in and cillian like sillian. if i have to pick one, i would pick killian.
