Well my husband is from India. We have a 1 year old Daughter named Mira. I am pregnant again, and don't know what it is. We were coming up with some names. We are stuck on about 3 each so lets see what you like.

BOYS

Milan - Meeting, union

Pavin - Breeze

Toshan - Satisfactory

GIRLS

Diya - Light

Usha - Dawn

Neha - yearning

They would have corresponding American middle names but I am not ready for that. I am American he is Indian.

  1. I like Pavin - an intriguing choice, to name a boy 'breeze'...lovely

and Diya - for the same reason - I have always loved the idea of the American girl who became Queen Noor, or Light...

perhaps it is splitting hairs, but 'satisfactory'  has a connotation of 'just enough', which doesn't seem much of a compliment, and I'm not sure 'yearning' would be something I'd want to be my whole life, either...

The sound of those names would also carry better, when you were calling them, and that can mean a lot when you need to do it.  And Milan is too near Mira, which might cause confusion.

Anyway, just what you wanted - someone totally overthinking the question...congratulations!  Mira is beautiful!

  2. Boy name- Pavin

    Girl name- Diya

I just love those names, I am not idian at all I am british but those names sound so mysterious and beautiful.

  3. Pavin and Neha

  4. Milan and Diya

  5. Boy: Pavin or Milan

    Girl: Neha

  6. I like Milan and Diya

  7. I like Milan and Diya

           Congrats

  8. Hi there,

From the boys names, I like Milan alot...

From the girls names, I like Diya...I think it's really pretty.

Hope the pregnancy goes well for you! Good luck...

  9. Not my style but love the meaning and with him being Indian my taste will not be the same as yours. If I had to pick for boy I would pick Pavin, for a girl Diya.

  10. I like

    Milan

    and

    Usha

    xx

  11. Personally, I like Ravi as an Indian name because I respect Ravi Zacharias so much.  I heard him speak many years ago, and everything I read by him is outstanding.

I like Diya or Usha as names for a girl, too.  I think they would not get teased so much for those names.

  12. I like Milan and Neha!!

  13. I really like Milan, and I think it matches well with your daughter's name too.

My favorite of the girl's names is Usha. I also like the meaning for that one the best :)

I think Amir would be really cute for a boy, then he would have the same letters as his sister! It has a few meanings: prince, prosperous in Arabic, and treetop in Hebrew

Also Rami (another anagram name) which means Pleasing in Sanskrit

    Good luck!!!

  14. Hey Texelgirl! Congratulations on your new baby! I like Milan for a Boy and Diya for a Girl! If that's your baby Mira in your Avatar, she's beautiful! Good Luck!!!
