Hi, I just want to see what othe parents recommend, tips on making baby sleep through the night. He's 17 months old today. My first daughter slept through the night right after she stopped feeding at night at around 6 months and has ever since but my son hasn't yet he has two good nights one bad night two good weeks, three bad nights and so on I really thought that by 12 months he'd be o.k. but here we are at 17 months and still waking up every now and then. How much longer!!!???

  1. I don't think that there is a right answer to this.  You just need to find a routine that will let him wind down.  A really important factor is excercise.  If your son is not allowed to run around like a little monkey all day, he will still have all that energy brewing inside and have a tough time sleeping.  I have a 17 month old son myself and he is alseep every night by 10pm and wakes up almost exactly at 8:30am every day.

You just need to find out what works for you and your boy!

  2. its you not him. You have to teach him how to get himself back to sleep without waking you. He just wants company and you have to make sure he knows that when it is dark we are in seperate rooms and when the sun is out we play.

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time, and you can aslo get your question answer in Google Search in this website, which has already helped me very much

  4. My older son was like this.  He was over 2 when our second baby was born (a great sleeper from day one) and I was still waking up at 3:00 in the morning because I was so used to it from the first one.  I think by that time he'd pretty much stopped, but I know he woke me up at nights for a very long time.

It should stop soon; hang in there.

BTW, that non-sleeper just graduated from Columbia Law School last month.  Being able to be up at night really helped with the studying, I guess.  :-)
