Question:

Baby nursery, Winnie the Pooh theme, looking for creative ideas

so far we've decided to go with red-shirt pooh, rather than the classic pooh

and we've decided to use a neutral color scheme, particularly light green

but besides buying the "Winnie the Pooh" line of baby items that everyone else has (crib, bedding, mobile, lamp, diaper stacker, etc...) we just don't have many creative ideas to make this nursery our-own (one-of-a-kind)

we've talked about getting a stuffed-animal hammock for the corner and using it to hold all the stuffed-animal Winnie the Pooh characters from our childhood (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Gopher, Rabbit, Owl, etc...)

we've also talked about painting some empty flower pots with the word "hunny" on the side and use them to hold little things like diaper creams and pacifiers, any little knick-knacks that baby needs handy

as far as the walls go, we decided to frame finished mosaic style jig-saw puzzles of Pooh and Tigger rather than paint (since we rent) or hang the same old framed posters you see in all the nurseries

link to one of the puzzles we are using:

We're really at a loss here,

we want this nursery to be fun and playful, something the whole budding family can enjoy...can anyone offer any unique or creative ideas for decor? Specifically any Winnie the Pooh craft ideas, we are crafty people who would very much enjoy making something one-of-a-kind for our baby's room.

We'd appreciate links to any sites with ideas as well. Thanks for any shared ideas!

PS, to help get the creative juices flowing we've been doing research on Winnie the Pooh's history on these sites:

and here's some more specific history to the shows my husband and I enjoyed as children, the shows which we want our to base our nursery off-of:

Thanks again!

  2. If you really are a crafty couple and maybe have some experience with woodwork, i would suggest getting (making or highering someone to make) a large, wall-size wooden cut out of a tree that you could paint to look like pooh's house. Then you could paste it up against the wall. I think it would look very artsy, winnie the pooh themed, and cute.

I would also paint the walls either a light, celery green or powder blue with clouds. I would keep to very light wooden furniture, such as the crib, changing table, rocking chair and keep to light greens and yellows for blankets and bedding and such.

  3. It would be very cute to paint, (on the wall) an actually scene.  I don't know how good your painting skills are, but it would be pretty simple.  Check @ your local "Lowe's" possibly.   They have a a lot of stencils.  Then your crib and other essentials could be green.

  4. do you like a mural?

you could also rent a projector and paint the mural yourself , make curtains with clouds printed fabric get a wicker chair for the room and a toy chest of the same makings. I will try to find more ideas for you ,so keep looking at my answers.

this would be the fabric or even lighter if you like .

Then you could write  quotes on the walls as well , I will see if I find some

"May the rainbow follow the rain"

I hope that I was of some help to you ,good luck for the future!

I have also found this fabric , the red balloons  will pick up the shirt colour of Winnie

PS I just re read your question and I don't realize that you rented the place , so forget about the mural it' way too much money to spent if you are not planning to stay there , so my other idea would be to paint a light blue wall and add some clouds to it ,then you ca buy removable stickers  to apply to the wall , I saw some earlier ,I wonder if I can find them again for you , I will look.
