i'm really pale and people always make comments on it, it really gets to me

so anyways i'm going to spain for a week so it'll be nice and hot- if i use a low spf and then some baby oil will i tan quickly?

does sunblock just make u not get a tan?

i have tried fake tan, it just goes streaky, even expensive brands. nd i can't afford to get a spray tan...

  1. The baby oil will more likely cause you to burn rather than tan.  If you have to tan and can't fake tan, then just a low spf.  Tans are great, but down the road a few years, you'll be searching for wrinkle cream and may regret the sun worshipping. : (

  2. I always use baby oil when I tan and it makes me really dark, but I told my friend to give it a try and it burned her and made her skin flaky. I guess it depends on what type of skin you have. I heard that people with an olive skin tone tan more easily then other skin tones and that's what I have. So unless you have an olive skin tone, I would just use  regular sun tan lotion.

  3. sunblock allows you to get slightly tanned but doesnt let the UV rays get to you.

i recommend coconut oil if you want an accelerated tan. it does it heaps fast but once again, cancer is a problem.

stock up on sunblock and coconut oil and by the time your back from your holiday, you'll be tanned :)

just take precuations and take care of your skin from cancer!~

  4. dont use baby oil!! its the worst thing you can possibly do to your skin

and yes sunscreen will prevent you from tanning

i would use some kind of gradual self tanning lotion a few weeks before hand. because if you are already tan then you will get even more tan faster.. its hardest when youre pale because all you do is burn

  5. i work at a tanning salon as a tanning consultant so i can help. i suggest using a low spf like 8-15 depending on how pale you are right now. you will need to have a "base tan" before using baby oil so you wont burn.

sunblock does exactly that- chemically blocks your skin from UV rays, but can wear off after you get wet or sweat. if you want to protect your skin, reapply every 2-4 hours. (4 at the very most)

good luck! hope this helps! let me know if you have any other questions or it i was unclear about anything!

  6. the entire point of sunblock is to block the sun. You don't want to take a chance at burning because you'll be in pain. So use a smaller spf.
