  1. Hi I have hand reared almost every type of parrot and it sounds to me as if you have babies that arent fully weaned and may still need a special hand rearing fomula. check their crops are full and that they arent loosing weight

  2. This is so typical of unscrupulous breeders.  These poor babies should not have been sold yet and it is so cruel to have sold them too early and without even explaining how they need to be kept and what they need.  Do they eat anything on their own?   They probably still need to be handfed and kept warm.  You really need to go to a vet or an expert breeder and ask them to show you how to feed these babies because even if they had just started eating on their own at the breeders, they will probably revert to expecting to be handfed when moved to a new home.  Keep them in a warm box with a towel near a heating lamp or something that keeps them warm.      Pet shops sell handfeeding formula in powder which needs to be mixed properly and at the correct temperature or else you risk feeding too cold (in which case they may not feed or their digestion may slow, causing severe problems), or too hot (in which case you may burn the "crop" - this is the little sac on the front, between body and throat, which holds their food and which needs to feel and look full and round, like a soft balloon, but never hard, after they have been fed). Basically you would mix up handfeed to the right temperature and feed this with a syringe (without needle part) introducng it from the right side of the beak towards the left, your side, not too much at a time or you risk getting it down the wrong passage.   You really need to be shown this, it is difficult to explain in words, easier when shown.  I don't know how old they are, but the number of feedings depends on age and how ready they are to be weaned - and it is important to check that the crop is not still full when you next feed them (this indicates a problem with the digestion of the food).

I think all in all you would be better off going to ask a breeder or a vet as they can actually see the birds and see how old they are and take it from there.

Good luck, and please remember never to buy babies which are unfeathered again.  It shows a bad breeder.

  3. What the heck???  Who in the world would ever sell babies at this age when they need their parents for food and warmth?  Put them in an old 5 gal fish tank with paper towels on the floor of it.  Underneath the tank, put a heating pad and keep it on the low setting.  Make sure the heating pad is not one that has an automatic shut off.  Cover the tank with a light towel.  Get a vet to show you how to hand feed these birds.  Learning off the internet, or just having someone tell you how to do it, is not a good way to learn.  You can aspirate the babies (choke) and they will die.  Please read my profile.

  4. The parents should care for them after they hatch.

  5. This problem is to big to handle here. It is a complicated process. You should be able to contact the breeder who sold them to you for the instructions. If you try this with out help you will kill these babies. If the breeder won't help, then contact an Avian Vet near you. A regular Vet does not have the experence to handle this problem.

You do not have much time to take care of this problem.

go to Http://AAV.org to find a vet near you.

Do not use a Heat lamp. This could damage sentive young eyes. Put them in a container and place a heating pad under the container, monitor it closely.  Keep the temp at about 82 to 84 degrees inside the container.

  6. their cold every now and then rap them in a blanket.and give them chopped up worms.= )
