I found a baby pigeon 3 weeks ago and have been taking care of him and feeding him happily and well.

But a couple of days ago a redish purplish bump began to slowly form on the right side of his face below his eye very near his beak.

he also has the right side of his beak open a little and not fully closed

so if you are a nice person then you will help me out and tell me what it is growing on the side of his face please help!!!

Hurry because I think I am running out of time!!!

  1. It could be pigeon pox.  It could also be internal canker under the skin.  Without seeing it, it's hard to tell.  If it's pox, only time and some good care will get him thru it.  If it's canker and you have a feed store or a pet fish store near you, you can ask them for -- if it's the fish store -- something for "hole in the head" disease for cichlids.

That's for trichomoniasis, which is what canker is.  If you have a feed store, ask them if they carry something for canker in pigeons and just follow directions.

  2. what about to just take your pigeon to a veterinarian? it is the best way to find out what is the disease of your pet ! QUICK before something happens!

  3. call the audobon society in your area quickly!
