  1. I'm 32 and i'm not sure that i recognize myself in the mirror. i'm forever looking and saying "is that really me? do i really look this old".

  2. Well our daughter was shown herself at about 2 weeks, but didn't really notice it was her. But when she was about 2 months old we showed her the reflection and she smiled and giggled. She would touch the mirror and look at me and my wife through the mirror so she knew that she was looking at herself for sure. Now she is 7 months and she loves seeing herself and always gets excited every time that she does.

  3. it's hard to tell... but i read somewhere that they start recognizing themselves in the mirror around 10-12 months.

  4. 2 Years

  5. My baby started about 2 months and is always smiling and giggling when she sees herself in the mirror...

  6. My son recognizes me in the mirror he is 1m2wks.

So in a few months he might be able to recognize himself,

but all babies are different remember that.

Generally babies start to recognize their own capabilities and body parts anywhere between 3-9 months.

  7. My Daughter is 3 months old and certainly looks in the mirror at what we believe is her reflection but she doesn't know it's her for example. My Mum taught me a trick - get some lipstick and put a dot of it on their forehead and when they then touch that spot of lipstick on their forehead with their hand when looking in the mirror, that is when they recognise themself.

I've tried this with my Daughter and she hasn't got a clue who she is looking at, she just smiles anyway, lol - needless to say she then nuzzles in towards and smudges the lipstick all over me, lol

  8. 3 months

  9. I believe its about one year. my daughter loves to look at "teh baby" in the mirror. she loves to kiss the baby. seh is 7 mo and still has no idea that baby is her

  10. I dont think you can tell if they know its them in the mirror until they can communicate well enough to tell you. Very early they enjoy looking at mirrors because babies love faces.

  11. Usually around 6-7 months, when they begin to learn cause and effect.... and object permantice.  My son started to become VERY interested in mirrors around 2 months.  He still loves them.  They understand that they are looking at something..... but it takes months for them to discover that it is actually them.  When atee Around 6-7 months babies learn that things are permanent.  Before this time.... when you walk out of a room.... they believe you dissapeared....... but they soon discover that things go away from vision.... but they come back.  This is also the time that they begin to discover themselves as a individual..... and then they begin to realize they are looking at themselves.

  12. Mine started looking at himself around 3 months and hasn't stopped since. He loves looking at himself, he knows he's so adorable

  13. it all depends. my son loves to look at himself in the mirror and watch himself doing things. he thinks its great.

but here is what i found on this website:

    http://www.pbs.org/wholechild/abc/social...

    1yr - 2yrs of age:

Children become more aware of themselves and their ability to make things happen. They express a wider range of emotions and are more likely to initiate interaction with other people. At this stage, most children:

Recognize themselves in pictures or the mirror and smile or make faces at themselves

But this site says it can range anywhere from 9-24 months

    http://health.howstuffworks.com/understa...

The babies all learned to recognize themselves in the mirror and wipe

off the lipstick sometime between 9 and 24 months of age.

By 21 months, most can look in a mirror and

understand that the reflection staring back is not another child, but an image of themselves.

All i can say, is every baby is different.

  14. I would introduce it to them early I think my daughter was about 3 months old and now she giggles and laughs and talks in the mirror.
