Baby rabbits ran from nest, will mother find them?

I was mowing out pasture and of course hit a rabbit nest, or at least came close. I scared two babies from the nest and while they were old enough to run, I know they were not old enough to be out of the nest. I was able to find one but since I couldn't locate the nest I placed it in the middle of the brush where I saw it run from. My husband and I couldn't locate the second one. The mother was near by and came running when she heard the one baby yell so we are wondering, will she find the second baby? I feel horrible I couldn't find the little one. I know the human scent won't matter but I feel just aweful about not being able to find the second baby.

  1. yes if she looks she will probably find the baby and the baby may find its way back by itself, there is always a slight chance that it will wander to far off, but your best bet is that the mother will find it. don't worry about it, you did nothing wrong.

  2. They will come back when they're ready. Or they will settle down somewhere else if they find the right mate.
