  1. If your baby has a severe nappy rash please DO NOT USE paw paw ointment. If your DR's ointment isn't working use a untifungal cream a good nappy rash ointment like nappy mate and nappy liners all together EVERY bum change. Change her often (I'm talking every 20 mins) and where ever possible take the nappy off all together. My daughter had a bum rash so bad once (She came back from daddys like it) thats how I cleared my missies nappy rash up

  2. did u try to just let it get some air?  just put a diaper under her and just let it breath.. desitin works awesome.. how old is she?  she could be teething too... i no that when my daughter is teething she gets a rash and there is nothing we can do about it...  good luck!!!

  3. Walmart sells Boudreaux's Butt Paste, this will clear it up with in 2 days.  Besides, nyastin in usually for yeast infection for babies.

  4. If the Cream the doctor   gave you is not working  you need to take her back to the doctor it's  probably nothing to worry about but, If it's causing her discomfort then it needs to be dealt with.

  5. Well nystatin was probably prescribed for a yeast infection. If it isn't helping then I would call the doctor and see if they recommend anything else. When my daughter had a bad rash along with the cream I used lots of baby powder. If it's a yeast infection desitin could make it worse. You have probably tried that already anyway (or some other brand). If nothing else let her be naked. Air helps both kinds of rashes.

  6. Destine night cream.  Worked wonders for my son.  My son would get welts/rash on his but from eating fresh fruit.

  7. i use only paw paw ointment on my babys butt, it not only sooths but heals. and when used on a regular basis is a great barrier.

  8. The nystatin is used to treat a yeast infection on the skin.  Very common in infants.  If this does not improve the rash, my children always did well with Desitin.  You can find it everywhere.

  9. Probably just a bad diaper rash.  Put Dr. Beaudreax Butt Paste on her and let her be naked on a towel for a bit.

  10. I would think you need to find the source, instead of trying to treat the result.

Has there been a change in diet, or environment? Even something like a new food, new formula, different detergent, wipe, or diaper can have a huge impact on the situation. Also, if it's hotter and the baby is clammy that could be a cause.

I would make sure you air her out, and let her go diaper free sometimes, especially in the sun for short periods of time. Then add the medication, and when you clean her up ensure you're using just water or a sensitive skin wipe, and rinse very well after a bath so there is no soap residue.

Eliminating any and all new foods, or formulas will help rule those out as well. My niece had recurring diaper rash after just a little rice, and until recently (13months old) tomatoes did the same. I would just try them every couple of weeks in small bits until her system could handle them.

  11. It could be ringworm (which by the way is not a worm, LOL)  Check out http://www.babycenter.com/0_ringworm_109... for more info.

    Good luck!

  12. if the Nystatin is not working you should take her back to the dr. My daughter had a really bad rash when she was born because of antibiotics she was given in the NICU so at first the dr. prescribed Nystatin thinking it was yeast related. When that didn't work I took her back the dr. and he prescribed a medication that is called "Cholestyramin 10%/Aquaphor 240...which is basically an ointment made of a cholesterol medication and aquaphor (doctors don't know why this combo works but it does)...this medication made the rash go away right away, it was an absolute wonder!!..Ask your doctor and see what he/she says. I hope your baby gets better soon.

  13. I second the answerer who recommended Boudreaux's Butt Paste.  Works better on my girl that the prescribed Nystatin.  $5 bucks at almost any store with a baby section.

  14. So Desitin doesnt work?  If it's really causing her problems of course you must take her back to the Dr.  You would not want to suffer with the pain and itch, neither does your infant.  Sometimes something else will do the trick to cure it.  Don't wait on this.
